Donna Haggarty-Robbins, Executive Director: Donna Haggarty-Robbins has served as Executive Director of the Safe Crossings Foundation since 2004. She is planning to step down from this position in fall 2008, and return to the Board of Directors. She formerly served as Vice President of the Board and as Grants Committee Chair. Ms. Haggarty-Robbins has a master’s degree in nursing as well as a law degree, both from Yale University. She practiced health law in Washington, D.C. before moving to Seattle in 1989, where she worked in private practice and later as in-house counsel for a Seattle medical center. Donna brings a passion for helping grieving children to Safe Crossings Foundation founded on the personal experience of losing her mother as a teenager.
Juliana Perez, Executive Director (September 2008): Juliana Perez has served on the Safe Crossing Foundation Board of Directors since summer 2005 and has fulfilled the role of Treasurer for the past two years. She will be the Executive Director in fall 2008. Ms. Perez received a Master’s Degree in Social Work in 1990 and brings a professional career spanning over 20 years in corporate finance, business operations, and accounting. Juliana has a commitment and passion to community service, especially in areas that impact children. The support Juliana received after the loss of her husband and while caring for her two children created a strong personal interest in supporting children dealing with death and bereavement.
Joseph Bushek, Development Director: Joe Bushek joins The Safe Crossings Foundation as the third employee in the much-needed role of Development Director. Joe comes to the organization with seven years of campaign and non-profit fundraising experience. Joe grew up in Portland, Oregon and earned his Bachelor of Arts from Oregon State University in 2001. In his free time he enjoys skiing, running, sailing and traveling. He currently resides in Shoreline with his wife, Sara and his Boston Terrier Bailey.
Molly Sedlik Hasson, Operations Manager: Molly has 10 years of experience in development, project management and non-profit leadership from her previous role as Director of the Seattle Jewish Film Festival to her five years with The Safe Crossings Foundation. With two small children, Molly works part-time from home and finds that balancing work and family to be an ongoing yet manageable challenge. Molly is passionate about working for an organization that so effectively spreads love and hope to so many tender hearts and minds.
